In 1994, AGS recognized that the expensive plasma systems used in our industry are expected to work for a long time. When we began the design of our System 1700 plasma tools and our APC-1000 Automated Plasma Controller we always kept in mind that you will need to keep using these tools well into the next century.
Therefore, from the beginning, we specified that all AGS systems would be able to operate well into the next millennium. Long before you heard the Y2K alarmists begin to rumble, we quietly made sure that our systems were ready to seamlessly move on year after year. Using the SEMATECH semiconductor manufacturing equipment standard tests, we were certified Y2K compliant by the IT professionals at Rockwell in 1997.
In addition, we implemented an extensive internal and external testing and verification program. Our internal systems have been tested and are in compliance. We also notified our suppliers that they too must be year 2000 capable. We were ready to provide interruption free operations before and after January 1, 2000.
All our operations and products will pass the following criteria

AGS is providing retrofit kits for Semi-Group, Ion & Plasma Equipment, and Axic plasma systems already in use in the field. Contact AGS for details about these older legacy systems and how we can keep them available for use into the next century.
AGS products distributed after January 1, 1997 will be certified by AGS as year 2000 compliant, as defined below.
A product certified by AGS as being Year 2000 compliant will not produce errors in date data related to the year change from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000 and date representation by the product will be accurate into the future including the handling of leap years. In addition, the compliant product will define specific non-ambiguous representation, handling and interpretation of centuries represented by two digits where such representation is used within the product.
This statement of compliance explicitly excludes (1) any application or custom software that is not part of the product, and (2) any modifications to the product by the user or others not specifically authorized by AGS.
This compliance warranty shall begin as of the date (after 1997) on which the product is sold to the user and will end on June 30, 2000. However, for products purchased after December 31, 1999, this compliance warranty will end three months after the date of sale.
The customer's exclusive remedy for any breach of this compliance warranty is that, if customer reports the breach to AGS within the warranty period, AGS shall use its diligent efforts to promptly correct the breach so that the product will conform to this warranty.
AGS OFFERS NO OTHER WARRANTIES CONCERNING DATES OR THE PROCESSING OF DATE DATA, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION NO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE OR PURPOSE.
All Year 2000 information is provided "AS IS" and AGS does not warrant that it is error free, nor does it provide any other warranties or conditions, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NEITHER AGS NOR ITS VENDORS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES RELATED TO ANY YEAR 2000 INFORMATION, WHETHER ARISING OUT OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, TORT, UNDER ANY WARRANTY, OR OTHERWISE.
